Armenian Youth Cultural Organization (AYCO)
Dear Fellow
Armenians:
The Armenian
Youth Cultural Organization (AYCO) invites entries to compete in
First Armenian Youth Talent Music Competition for
a variety of recognition awards.
The 2009
Competition is sponsored by the AYCO under Direct Help for
Armenian People (DHAP) and is conducted with the assistance of
an Advisory Panel of outstanding musicians, educators and
intellectuals.
The goal and
mission of this organization is to encourage artistic expression
of Armenian culture by showcasing the innate talents of many
young adults well versed in the fine performing arts.
One of the
projects the organization plans to sponsor is its first musical
concert scheduled to take place on Memorial Day,
Monday, May 25, 2009, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall
in New York City at 2:00 PM. The event is dedicated to the
20th Anniversary of the Armenian Martyrs of the 1988 Earthquake.
The program
will feature instrumental and vocal talents in three age
categories. Two auditions monitored by judges will precede the
concert as detailed in the attached application. Those eligible
for the second audition will move on to the final performance
which will
be promoted in the Armenian media
and will
take place at
St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral (2nd Avenue & E.34th Street, New
York, NY) in April 19, 2009.
In addition
to the opportunity to appear on the prestigious Weill Recital
Hall stage, the finalists will be granted honorary and monetary
awards.
